Company Profile and Mission
The Tien Chu (Hong Kong) Company Limited was founded by the famous industrialist Mr Wu Yun Chu in 1921. The manufacturing factory was established in To Kwa Wan, Kowloon in 1937; and it is one of Hong Kong’s pioneers in seasoning and chemical industry and the only M.S.G manufacturing factory in Hong Kong.
Born in 1921 and registered in Hong Kong since 1929, Tien Chu is the flagship brand of The Tien Chu (Hong Kong) Company Limited.
It has made remarkable achievements over the past decades, commended as a label representative of Chinese national industries and one of the vanguards of Hong Kong’s industrial brands.
The founder of Tien Chu Mr. Wu Yun Chu invented the method for production of Monosodium Glutamate via hydrolysis of protein of gluten in 1921, and the Chinese name of M.S.G, i.e. "味精"(Ve-Tsin) hence came into existence. "Tien Chu Ve-Tsin Gourmet Powder" is manufactured with unique technology and formula. It is extremely fine,smooth,high solubility and more effective in enchancing the natural flavor of cuisine than traditional crystal-form MSG with less side-effect of causing thirstiness.
Tien Chu compound condiments include Chicken Powder, Beef Powder, Convenience Sauce, tailored to cater for different people’s needs. Moreover, "Tien Chu Propolis Capsule" a healthy food introduced in recent years, is gaining in popularity.
In 1930S ,Tien Chu won "Gold Prize" in Philadelphia Exposition, the "Gold Prize" in Belgium Exposition and the "Gold Prize" in Chicago Exposition. Over the years, many great leaders and celebrities, including Jiang Jie Shi, Mao Ze Dong, Zhou En Lai, Jiang Ze Min, Zhu Rong Ji, Hu Jin Tao and Grantham(a Hong Kong Governor during the colonial rule)ever highly praised Tien Chu for its outstanding achievements, remarkable contributions during the World War Two and its significant role in the development of Hong Kong industry.
Apart from "2004 Hong Kong Top Brand", "Top 100 Most Vital Enterprise in China 2006", "Prime Awards for the Best Brand Enterprise in Greater China 2007" and "Certificate Award for the Best Brand Enterprise (Greater China)2007", Tien Chu was conferred "China Hotel Industry Top 10 Suppliers" in 2008-2009.

(short for "SIIC"), registered in Hong Kong in July 1981, a window company of Shanghai Municipal Government in Hong Kong, is wholly owned by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of Shanghai Municipal Government at present and authorized to operate SIIC Shanghai (Holdings) Company Limited.
